URochester alumni love helping students and fellow graduates. So what’s one question you have for someone who’s done what’s ahead of you?
Hi! I’m looking to connect with alumni who took lessons at the Eastman School of Music while an undergrad on the River Campus. Did you have to audition? Was your teacher a student or faculty member? I’m trying to decide if I want to continue with violin lessons in college. Thank you!
Hello, I’m interested in pre-med at URochester. If I’m not accepted to the REMS program, will Rochester still provide a good foundation for me to successfully apply to med schools? I’d like to talk to a non-REMS alumni to learn more about what pre-med resources and opportunities are available to help prepare me for the future while an undergrad.
Hi! URochester is one of my top choices, but I’m a little worried about the weather. I’ve heard it’s cold and snowy. I’m from California. I’m really interested in talking to someone who came from a warmer climate to hear more about what the weather is really like, how you adjusted, and what is there to do in the winter in Rochester?
It’s easy as 1, 2, 3
Tell us a bit about yourself (are you a High School Student? Applicant? Recently admitted student? Parent?) and what information you're looking for (5 minutes)
We find and share your question with URochester community members.
Responses get delivered right into your email inbox (2-3 days).
Build your URochester network by continuing to stay in touch, directly or via social media.
It has never been simpler to get help from others that have done what’s ahead of you.
Anything about the University of Rochester as it relates to academics, co-curricular activities, research, the weather, life on campus…you name it! There are thousands of alumni and parents willing to help. Questions about the admissions and application process, financial aid and scholarships are best left to the experts, though, so direct those to either Admissions and Financial Aid staff members.
Think of your question as an advertisement. Share who you are, what you are doing, and what you need help with. Keep it short and sweet. Here’s a short video on how to craft a great question that will get you results and help build your network.
Yes, of course! Once we make a match, you’ll have direct, one-to-one communication and can ask additional questions.
We’ll send your request to University of Rochester alumni and parents that can best speak to your interests.
No. We make our matches based on availability, proximity, experience, and skills.
No, you can ask as many different questions as you’d like, as often as you’d like. In fact, we encourage it as this is the simplest way for you to network with the URochester community.
Your question will not be made public. It will be seen only by matched experts and a handful of administrators.
Our goal is to get you answers within 3 business days. But it depends on what you’re asking. It can go as quickly as an hour to as long as 10 days or more.
